Here are the new windchests for the facade with their stain in place. The next step is to spray on several coats of laquer and then to buff out the finish.

More Chests

This is one of two chests which go on each side of the large center chest. These are also curved to match the wall upon which they will stand.

Facade Chest

Here is the center raised section of the curved facade chest. Click on the picture for a larger version. The horizontal veneer and trim is all of Oak. The remainder of the construction is of cabinet grade birch plywood and solid spruce.

Inside the Swell division

Here is the inside of the swell division with the bass chest at the lower right and the treble chest at the upper right.

The swell division is complete

Here is the completed swell division. Originally the swell division was spread out on one level. Now the treble chest is "double-decked" above the bass chest. The corner of the swell frame is cut off and will (theoretically) match the slope of the ceiling in the new organ chamber.

Construction Begins

We have begun re-engineering this organ for installation into Valley Community Presbyterian. The picture shows the swell organ in its new configuration with its utilitarian swell enclosure. This division was originally all on one level but is now double-decked in order to fit in the new organ chamber.

Pipes

Here you see the large pipes of the 16' Contrabass laying on the floor with trays of smaller pipes stacked in the background.

Organ removal begins

Removal has begun. The facade pipes have been removed in this picture.

A pipe organ for Valley Presbyterian

This organ, which is currently installed at Oliver Presbyterian Church in Minneapolis has graciously been donated to Valley Community Presbyterian Church of Golden Valley. It will be removed, reconfigured, and re-installed in their church. The organ is a Wicks that was built in the 70's and recently upgraded with solid-state relays.
